Body

Below is a high-level overview of steps we recommend you review in order to connect to technology on campus successfully. If you have any issues with any of the below steps, please contact the Help Desk at 804-287-6400.

Computer Access: We strongly recommend you bring your personal computer to campus in order to be able to access any needed services and complete assignments without the need to rely on physical access to a public computer.

Internet Access: There are several WiFi networks available on campus to address different needs

Printing: While the University Network does not support personal wireless printers, there are public printers available on campus for faculty, staff, and students to print to. Students who have purchased wireless printers to use in their apartments/dorms, will need to use a printer cable to connect to the printer.

Email: Student email is hosted by Gmail, and is accessed at http://gmail.richmond.edu

Duo: Duo multifactor secure authentication is required when signing in to certain resources from off-campus, including: Bannerweb and VPN

Box: Box is an encrypted, cloud-based file storage and collaboration platform that enables faculty, staff and students to securely store and share electronic business and academic files.

Office 365: Microsoft Office is available for all active faculty, staff, and students to download on up to 5 desktops/laptops, 5 tablets, and 5 smartphones.

Zoom: Zoom is a conferencing tool that offers video, audio, and screen-sharing capabilities across multiple platforms.

Campus Cable: Cable TV is available on campus, either through a coaxial cable connected to your TV or via Philo on one of your devices
