Maximizing your iPad's potential

Overview

For anyone using a personal or UR provided iPad for schoolwork or job related tasks, below are some resources available to help you be more productive with your iPad.

Getting Connected

One of the first steps you will want to complete with your iPad is to connect to the Internet and configure your email.

Remote Access

From off campus, you will need to connect to the VPN in order to access some campus resources like Bannerforms or OnBase. In addition, if you use a Windows computer for work, you can use the Microsoft Remote Desktop app to connect directly to your computer from your iPad. You may also wish to install and configure Duo on your iPad to use it as a primary or secondary device to approve Duo requests.

Getting Work Done

While there are thousands of productivity oriented apps available on the App Store, the following list of apps are ones we support and recommend for use.

Connect to your Mac

You can connect your iPad to your Mac and use it as an external display to extend or mirror your Mac desktop

Backup

It is important to back up your iPad in the event that something happens to your tablet. Apple provides 5 GB of iCloud storage for free if you'd like to backup with iCloud, or alternatively you can use your Mac or Windows PC to backup your iPad.
