All Windows and Macs that connect to urwin will need to have software installed in order to successfully connect. This software can be preinstalled while off campus which will make a first time connection to 'urwin' on campus go smoother.
Please note: If you are running Mac OS Sequoia on a personal system please update the Clearpass application on your computer (you may need to connect to "visit ur" temporarily) using the directions below.
Step 1 - Connect to the 'urwin' Wifi Network
Step 2 - Install ClearPass
Step 3 - Install Antivirus: The University provides Antivirus (Crowdstrike Falcon) for University owned and Student Computers. For Faculty and Staff Personal computers, one of our preferred antivirus solutions is required.
Note: Prior to installing any new antivirus software, it is always recommended to uninstall any existing antivirus software that is installed on your computer.
- Students: Install Crowdstrike Falcon
- Faculty/Staff (Personal Computers): Microsoft Defender must be installed & operational on Windows computers, this is included with the Windows operating system. On Mac systems you may use any antivirus application including Xprotect which is included with Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and above.
