Request Specialty Software

This is only available for Faculty and Staff on University Computers.

Specialty software, or non-standard software, is defined as software needed for a specific discipline, or job function; examples include products that support statistical analysis, document publishing, or high-end graphic design. Some products are already licensed for the whole enterprise; some products must be purchased by the individual user’s department. The Digital Tools and Software Library is a great resource for viewing details, such as licensing or costs, associated with common specialty software titles used across campus.

If you know the software that you need installed on your University computer, please submit the Request Specialty Software form.

Software Purchase Consultation

Faculty and staff that have questions about purchasing software for their University computer can request a consultation with IS Procurement. IS Procurement can give software purchasing advice, provide you with quotes, or direction on the best software to use.

Please submit the Request Consultation form.

Software Updates and Support

Software updates for University Macs and PCs are managed through the Help Desk. Operating System updates and upgrades for both Windows and macOS are tested prior to being made available to install to avoid compatibility issues or bugs. Windows updates are managed by Microsoft's Endpoint Manager and updates for macOS are managed by Jamf Pro. The Help Desk can also assist with updating operating systems on personal devices for faculty, staff, and students.

If you need assistance with updating the OS or installing updates on your computer, you can submit the Request OS Update Support Form

If you are experiencing an issue with software on your computer or device, please use the Report a Problem form.
