Overview

The University of Richmond's network resources can be accessed by authenticated students, faculty, and staff using the University's Virtual Private Network (VPN) via an Internet connection. Security is provided by enhanced authentication and encryption technology. The VPN allows secure access to some campus resources (Bannerforms, Cascade, OnBase, ROADS, Sending a Spiderbyte) from a remote or off-campus location.  However, the VPN is *NOT* required for access to email, Blackboard, Box, BannerWeb, library resources, and many other UR applications.

Details / Instructions

Individuals can connect to the University's VPN by using a software called Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client. This software is pre-installed on University computers, but can be installed on personal computers or mobile devices using the instructions below.

In addition, DUO Security two-factor authentication is also required when connecting to the VPN.
