Update Network Password on Smart Devices

Overview

Follow the steps below to update your network password for the wifi and email on your smart devices. Please keep in mind, the steps below may be somewhat different based on the model of the device or the version of software your device is running.

Details / Instructions

iOS Devices

Wifi: 

  1. Go to Settings. 
  2. Select Wifi
  3. Tap on the i to the right of the urwin network. 
  4. Click on the option for Forget this Network
  5. When asked to confirm if you want to forget, click forget again. 
  6. You can now click on urwin and will be prompted to enter your username and password to join. 

Email: 

  1. Go to Settings. 
  2. Click on Mail
  3. Tap Accounts.
  4. Tap on the Richmond email account (This may be listed as Exchange or Gmail). 
  5. You will have a field on this page for a password. Delete out what is listed and enter the new password.
  6. If it doesn't prompt you to enter your password, please do the following:
    1. After you complete step #4, click on Delete Account
    2. Tap Delete from My iPhone
    3. Click Add Account and click on Microsoft Exchange (faculty/staff only) or Google (students/Osher/retirees)
    4. Type in your Richmond email address and for the description field, you can leave it as is and click Next
    5. Click Sign In on the next screen
    6. Click Continue if you get another popup saying "Settings wants to use microsoftonline.com to sign in"
    7. Enter your new password within microsoftonline.com and click Sign In
    8. You will get a Duo Push from Duo Mobile asking if you are signing in, and you will click Approve
    9. Get out of Duo Mobile and get back into the Settings app
    10. Make sure Mail is toggled on and click Save
    11. Close out of Settings and get into your Mail app to see if the new password is taking place.

Android Devices

Wifi: 

  1. Go to Settings. 
  2. Select Connections
  3. Click on Wifi.
  4. Long press on the urwin network. 
  5. Select Manage network Settings
  6. Tap in the password field and enter your new password.  

Email

  1. Open your Mail app. 
  2. Tap on the Menu button (three horizontal lines) at the top left corner. 
  3. Select the settings icon (gear).
  4. Tap on the Richmond email account. 
  5. Scroll to the bottom and tap on Exchange Server Settings.
  6. Delete out the password that is listed and enter the new password and then click Done
