Overview
The Spider Insider website (https://spiderinsider.richmond.edu/ - opens in new window) builds on the foundation of the print publication by providing a dynamic, daily stream of timely information, including campus news, events, and updates such as road closures and facility alerts. There are also quick links to essential resources. With its news-site format, important information is front and center, ensuring you can quickly find what you need.
Adding a website to your bookmarks (also known as "favorites" in some web browsers) allows you to quickly access a website without needing to memorize the website address or rely on a web search to navigate to the correct page.
These directions are for PC and Mac browsers (Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Safari).

Microsoft Edge
Microsoft Edge includes a Favorites Bar which is found directly below the address bar, this is great place to save frequently-used websites. You can also save websites to your Favorites folder instead of the Favorites bar.
To add a website to the Favorites bar in Microsoft Edge:
- Navigate to the website https://spiderinsider.richmond.edu (opens in new window).
- Click the star icon (Add this page to favorites) on the far right side of the address bar.
- Click the dropdown list next to "Folder" and click "Favorites bar".
- Click "Done".

To add a website to the Favorites menu in Microsoft Edge:
Navigate to the website (https://spiderinsider.richmond.edu).
Click the star icon (Add this page to favorites) on the right side of the address bar.
Choose an existing folder by clicking the dropdown list next to "Folder" or click "Choose another folder" at the bottom of the list to see all folders and have the ability to create a new folder if desired.
Click "Done".

Any favorites you have added to Microsoft Edge can be accessed by clicking the Favorites icon on the top right corner of Microsoft Edge.

You can also access bookmarked websites by using the address bar in Microsoft Edge to search your Favorites list. You can also filter results displayed to sites that are in your Favorites list by clicking "Favorites" in the filter options at the bottom of the search window.

Google Chrome
Google Chrome includes a Bookmarks Bar which is found directly below the address bar, this is great place to save frequently-used websites. You can also save websites to your Bookmarks folder instead of the Bookmarks bar.
To add a website to the Bookmarks bar in Google Chrome:
- Navigate to the website https://spiderinsider.richmond.edu (opens in new window).
- Click the star icon (bookmark) on the far right side of the address bar.
- Click the dropdown list next to "Folder" and click "Bookmarks bar".
- Click "Done".

To add a website to the Bookmarks menu in Google Chrome:
- Navigate to the website (https://spiderinsider.richmond.edu).
- Click the star icon (bookmark) on the right side of the address bar.
- Choose an existing folder by clicking the dropdown list next to "Folder" or click "Choose another folder" at the bottom of the list to see all folders and have the ability to create a new folder if desired.
- Click "Done".

Any favorites you have added to Google Chrome can be accessed from the Bookmark Side Panel.
Click "All Bookmarks" in the top right corner.
Click "Open Side Panel to see All Bookmarks".

You can also access bookmarked websites by using the address bar in Google Chrome to search your Bookmarks list or use "Search bookmarks" in your Bookmarks Side Panel.

Mozilla Firefox
Mozilla Firefox includes a Bookmarks Toolbar which is found directly below the address bar, this is great place to save frequently-used websites. You can also save websites to your Bookmarks folder instead of the Bookmarks Toolbar.
To add a website to the Bookmarks Toolbar:
- Navigate to the website https://spiderinsider.richmond.edu (opens in new window).
- Click the star icon ("bookmark this page") on the far right side of the address bar.
- Click the dropdown list next to "Location" and click "Bookmarks Toolbar".
- Click "Save".

To add a website to the Bookmarks menu in Mozilla Firefox:
- Navigate to the website (https://spiderinsider.richmond.edu).
- Click the star icon ("bookmark this page") on the right side of the address bar.
- Choose an existing folder by clicking the dropdown list next to "Location" or click "Choose" at the bottom of the list to see all folders and have the ability to create a new folder if desired.
- Click "Done".

Any favorites you have added to Mozilla Firefox can be accessed from the Bookmark Toolbar in the top menu bar.

You can also access bookmarked websites by using the address bar in Mozilla Firefox to search your Bookmarks list, you will need to change the search option on the left side of the address bar to "Bookmarks".

Safari (MacOS)
To add a website to the Bookmarks menu in Safari:
- Navigate to the website https://spiderinsider.richmond.edu (opens in new window)
- Click "Bookmarks" on the top menu bar.
- Click "Add Bookmark" (You can also press Command + D on your keyboard to get here).
- Choose a folder by clicking the dropdown list under the text "Add this page to:".
- Click "Add".

To access a website in Safari Bookmarks:
- Click the Sidebar button in the top left corner of Safari.
- Click on the desired bookmark to load the website.
