Solstice Pods

Overview

Solstice Pod is a device that supports wireless presentation capabilities in classrooms and meeting spaces. Using the pod also requires the use of the Solstice application, which is a free download to your computer or mobile device. The pod allows a user that is connected to an available wireless network (such as urwin, Richmond, eduroam, or VisitUR) to mirror the primary display from their device to an installed display or projection system; no cables required.

All University classrooms and meeting spaces with installed media systems are equipped with the Solstice Pod, and Information Services continues to deploy them as part of capital renovation projects and classroom audiovisual system upgrades.

Solstice Pods support the use of personal computers (Mac or PC), mobile devices and tablets (including iOS and Android).

Details / Instructions

A software app download is necessary to connect to the pod. This process is quick and easy. Once it’s installed the software will allow you to connect to any pod on campus. Each pod has a unique code that is required to connect to the presentation system. Most meeting spaces and classrooms are also equipped with an AMX control system “touch panel”. The touch panel allows you to select “wireless presentation” as a source. The Instructions for connecting, including the unique code, will then appear on the screen.
