Uninstall CrowdStrike Falcon on macOS (Students)

Overview

Crowdstrike Falcon is the University provided antivirus and required to be installed on all student computers in order to connect to the University network. However, if you no longer need to connect to the University network because you have graduated or withdrawn, are trying to troubleshoot an issue with your computer, or are giving your computer away, you can follow the instructions below to uninstall CrowdStrike Falcon from your Mac.

Instructions

Option 1

  1. Open your Applications folder in Finder and locate Falcon
  2. Drag Falcon to the Trash
  3. You may be prompted to uninstall the System Extension and restart your Mac
  4. Falcon is now uninstalled

Option 2

  1. Navigate to the Software Download page and login with your netID and password
  2. Click on Falcon Uninstaller for macOS and download the file
  3. From your Downloads folder, launch and run the Uninstall CSFalcon.pkg
  4. Click Continue and then Install
  5. The script to uninstall CrowdStrike Falcon will be installed and then run, this may take up to a minute to complete
  6. Once the uninstallation is complete, to confirm CrowdStrike Falcon has been removed, you can follow the steps below
    1. Open Finder and go to Applications
    2. Confirm you do not see Falcon listed as an app
