Backup Files Using an External Hard Drive (macOS)

Overview

Your Mac can be backed up using an external hard drive with a built in program in macOS called Time Machine. 

Details

  1. When you connect an external hard drive to your Mac, you will automatically be prompted to use it to backup with Time Machine.
  2. Select Use as Backup Disk.
  3. Time Machine is now configured to backup your Mac to the external hard drive automatically.
