As of July 1, 2022, Google no longer offers unlimited storage and the University of Richmond was forced to implement storage quotas for all @richmond.edu accounts. If the University of Richmond does not comply with Google’s storage restrictions, students, alumni, and retirees will no longer be able to receive emails in or add files to their @richmond.edu accounts.
Prior to this restriction, 98% of UR's students, alumni, and retirees used less than 20 GB/person of Google Drive storage. Therefore, the University of Richmond implemented 20 GB storage quotas for all @richmond.edu Google Drive accounts. If you have more than 20 GB of files in your Google Drive account, we ask that you review the contents of your account and either eliminate files to less than 20 GB and/or migrate files to an alternative location (e.g., a personal Gmail account, storage drive, etc.).
If you are over the 20 GB limit after June 1, 2022, the University may have to delete files from your Google Drive account until you are below the 20 GB limit.
We apologize that Google placed you and the University of Richmond in this situation.

Note: You can easily move files, emails, contacts, etc. from one Google account to another by using Google Takeout. You can also export your Google content to a storage device.
