Post Course Materials in Blackboard

Overview

You can add files, images, audio, and video when you create content in your course. For example, in discussions, you can browse for a media clip from your computer or your course's file repository: Course Files or the Content Collection.

Details / Instructions

  1. Access a content area from the Course Menu by clicking on the name of the content area, e.g. Course Documents.
  2. On the Action Bar, click Build Content button and then select Item, File, Image, or Video under the Create drop-down.
    • Choosing to create a File allows the upload of only a single attachment, while an Item allows you insert text, an image, a web or video link, or an uploaded file into your course.
  3. On the Create Item page, enter the item’s Name and Text.
  4. To upload a file from your computer click Browse My Computer or, to link to an existing file that was previously uploaded to your course, click Browse Course Files.
  5. Under Options, select availability settings, like restricting student access to the item until or before a certain time/date.
  6. Click Submit.

You can create a new content area using the "plus" icon on the top of the left menu.
