Service Overview
This program supports the needs of undergraduate students that require the use of a computer while their computer is being serviced either at the Computer Help Desk or another computer repair location (i.e. Apple Store). Chromebooks will be available on a first come first serve basis.
Chromebook Program Parameters
- Available Chromebooks may be checked out from the Help Desk for the duration of the repair.
- If a student decides to use a Chromebook, they must submit and agree to the terms outlined on the Loaner Chromebook Request form.
- You must follow the University of Richmond policies regarding the use of technology and information resources. This includes the use of confidential and/or sensitive information.
- The Chromebook must be returned within 1 business day of when the personal computer repair is complete.
- If the Chromebook is not returned within 24 hours of the personal repairs being complete, the Help Desk will lock down the Chromebook.
- If a student must order a part for their computer, they will have one week to order the part and get it to the Help Desk to complete the repair before the computer is locked.
- All profiles on the machine will be deleted by the Help Desk upon return, please remove personal and work data before return.
