Overview
University-Owned computers with Version 23H2 are required to update before December 1, 2026. Please use the instructions below to install this important version upgrade.
Details / Instructions
1. Use the Windows Search Toolbar to find and open "winver".
2. Identify the Windows 11 Version in the Windows Version application. If you see "Version 23H2" (as circled in the screenshot below) in this window you must complete the following steps by the end of 2026 or your system may be quarantined and unable to access the University network.
3. Use the Windows Search Toolbar, type in "Windows Update".
4. Select "Check for Updates".
5. Select "Advanced options".
6. Toggle "Receive updates for other Microsoft products" to "On" if it is Off.
7. Select the back button at the top left to return to the Windows Update screen.
8. Click the dropdown arrow next to "Check for Updates" and select "Check online for updates from Microsoft Update". Windows will download and install all updates that are required.
9. Restart the computer when prompted.
10. Use Lenovo System Update (link opens in new window) to download and install all available hardware drivers for your system. If you use a docking station make sure the docking station is connected to your computer.
