Windows: How to enable Time Zone location settings

Overview

If you travel with your computer to different time zones, the system may not correctly update the time zone.  Information Services pushes out a policy to allow your system to update the time zone automatically however in some cases it is necessary for you to change a setting on the system before the policy update will apply. 

Details / Instructions

1) Right-click the Windows Start Menu .

2) Left-click "Settings".

3) In the search bar at the top of the window type in "Location Privacy" and press "Enter" on your keyboard.

4) Under the section "Allow apps to access your location", change the toggle slider to "On".

5) Close the window by left-clicking the "X" in the top right corner.

6) Right-click the time/date in the system tray (lower right corner of your screen).

7) Left-click "Adjust date/time".

8) Under "Set time zone automatically", change the toggle slider to "On" .

9) Close the window by left-clicking the "X" in the top right corner.
