Install and Print to Public Printers on Mac (Students/Faculty/Staff)

Overview

Students, Faculty, and Staff may install public printers following the Mac install instructions below.

Instructions

  1. Download the attachment (pc-print-deploy-client*.dmg) located in the attachment box down on the bottom right side of this window.

       

  1. Locate the downloaded file on your computer and double-click the file to install. 

       

  1. Click Continue 

       

  1. Click Continue to agree to the license

       

  1. Depending on your Mac Operating System settings, you may get an additional prompt to Read the License, click Agree

       

  1. Click Install

       

  1. Depending on your Mac Operating System Settings, you may get another authentication pop-up.  Use your Mac Username and Password for this and click OK/Allow to install the software.

       

 

       

  1. Click Close to end the installation process.

       

 

  1. Before adding a printer, you need to know the printer name. Check the label on the public printer for the correct printer name.

       

  1. To add a printer, click the black or green printer icon located in the upper right corner of your screen and choose View My Printers.  If you get prompted to sign in, use your Richmond netid and password for this.

       

 

  1. Click Add Printers located on the right side of the pop-up window, locate the printer in the list, then click install.  

       

  1. Installed printers will show in the My Printer section.

       

  1. You can now print to your installed printers. Repeat the steps above to install additional printers at any time.
