You can upgrade to macOS Golden Gate via Software Update in System Settings under General > Software Update. System Settings can be found under the Apple Menu or in the Applications folder on your Mac.
While macOS Golden Gate is supported for both University and student Macs, we suggest caution when upgrading to a new OS. Prior to upgrading, we recommend that you have a backup that you can restore your computer to if the upgrade fails. In addition, you should allow at least 45-60 minutes for the upgrade to complete, and do not restart the computer while the upgrade is installing, even if it appears to be frozen.
