Installation
If you are looking to upgrade macOS, we recommend upgrading to, macOS Sonoma.
If your Mac doesn't meet the hardware requirements for macOS Ventura or macOS Sonoma or you would prefer to install macOS Monterey, University managed Macs can upgrade via Self Service, located in your dock or the Applications folder on your Mac. For personal computers, you can find macOS Monterey in the Mac App Store*.
We suggest caution when upgrading your OS. Prior to upgrading, we recommend that you have a backup that you can restore your computer to if the upgrade fails. In addition, you should allow at least 45-60 minutes for the upgrade to complete, and do not restart the computer while the upgrade is installing, even if it appears to be frozen.
