Description

Mathematica is a symbolic mathematical computation program, sometimes called a computer algebra program, used in many scientific, engineering, mathematical, and computing fields.

Cost: These products are only available to current faculty, staff and students of University of Richmond for teaching, learning and academic research. Use of these products for commercial purposes, government research or consulting for a commercial, governmental or nonprofit organization is not allowed.

Available To: Faculty, Staff, and Students

Access Mathematica Online

Mathematica Online is available for all faculty, staff, and students and can be accessed using the steps below: 

  1. In your browser, navigate to: https://www.wolfram.com/siteinfo/ 
  2. Enter your University of Richmond email address, and agree to the terms on the page and click Continue
  3. Click on the button for Go to Mathematica | Online.
  4. Enter your University of Richmond email address on the Sign in page, and click Continue
  5. You will then be redirected to a University sign in page. Enter your NetID and Network password and click login
  6. You will then be logged into Mathematica Online. 

Installation Instructions

If you prefer the desktop version of Mathematica please follow these directions: 

  1. In your browser, navigate to: https://www.wolfram.com/siteinfo/ 
  2. Enter your University of Richmond email address, and agree to the terms on the page and click Continue
  3. Click on the button for Download. Launch the Mathematica installer that is downloaded to your computer. Proceed through the installation steps. 
  4. Once Mathematica is installed, when you launch the program, you will be prompted to Activate the software. Under Activate through your Organization (SSO), click Sign In.
  5. If you were already signed in to Mathematica in your browser, you may see a 'Sign in Successful' message and the software is now activated. 
  6. If your browser opens to a sign in page, enter your University of Richmond email address and click continue
  7. If prompted to select a sign in method with your account, choose "University of Richmond". Otherwise, you will be directed to a University sign in page to enter your NetID and Network password and click login
  8. You should then see a 'Sign in Successful' message and the software is now activated.
