Solver is a Microsoft Excel add-in program you can use for what-if analysis.

Installation Instructions
Solver is a built in add-in to Microsoft Excel that you can enable following the below instructions:
macOS:
- From the menu bar in Excel, choose Tools>Excel Add-ins...
- Check the box for Solver Add-in and click OK
- Select the Data ribbon in Excel and you will now see a Solver option in the Analyze category
Windows:
- In Excel, click on File>Option>Add-Ins
- Click Go next to "Manage: Excel Add-ins"
- Check the box next to Solver Add-in and click OK
- Select the Data ribbon in Excel and you will now see a Solver option in the Analyze category

Solver O365 Add-in
If you are using a mobile device or would like to use the O365 version of the Solver add-in, it must first be enabled for your Richmond Microsoft account. To request that the Add-in be enabled for your account, use the following service: Enable Office 365 App or Add-In
You will be notified by a technician once you have been scoped with access, and it may take up to 30 minutes before the add-in is available to you in Excel. Once it is available, click on Get Add-Ins in Excel and then click the Admin Managed tab. You will see Solver available for you to add.
Support
Please note that some apps or add-ins may require individual subscriptions or licensing to be able to fully use. The University of Richmond Help Desk support for these apps and add-ins is limited to making sure access to the service is available. All other support must be with the App developers.
