Installation Instructions

A volume-licensed based version of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Office 2019, is installed on all Classroom and Lab PC and Mac computers on campus as part of the Standard Classroom and Computer Lab Software. Microsoft Office 365 is installed as part of the University's Standard Software on all Faculty and Staff PC and Macs.

Microsoft Office 365 is available download on up to (5) desktops/laptops, tablets, and smart phones. Faculty, Staff, and Students may use the license as long as their status is active at the University of Richmond. Student eligibility may be re-verified at any time. At expiration, the Office applications enter a reduced-functionality mode, which means documents can be viewed but it isn't possible to edit or create new documents.

To download and install Office, login in to http://portal.office.com with your Richmond email address and network password. Under My Account > Install Status, click on Manage Installs. From there, you will see the link for "Install Desktop Applications" and you will be able to install the software on your computer.
