Overview
A number of classrooms at the University of Richmond are equipped with the Epson interactive projector which uses a whiteboard for the projection surface, and acts as a large interactive display. These devices are commonly used for annotating presentations, or highlighting text; some rooms are configured so that the attached room computer can also be controlled by touching the whiteboard, as though it is a large touch monitor.

Type of Whiteboards
Epson Ultra-Short-Throw Interactive Whiteboards
These systems utilize “ultra-short-throw” projectors, projected on a whiteboard. This helps to minimize the obstruction or “shadow” caused by a presenter on a traditionally mounted projector. This allows the instructor to get close to the board and annotate or interact with the content being displayed.
